El Aers – The wedding project is a multi-disciplinary artistic research project that aims to create a new perspective about the freedom of movement across borders. Marriage is a metaphor that represents union and desire, and the possibility of meeting other people and worlds. A marriage between the two shores of the Mediterranean, to celebrate the birth of a new vision in which men and women can travel or stay freely. El Aers is both a documentary and imaginary project, based on the wishes, dreams and desires of young people living on both sides of the sea. El Aers collects stories and experiences in different places in the Mediterranean region through a series of multidisciplinary workshops. These workshops aim to gather enough material that allows to create a final performance which tries to emphasize the complexity of the Mediterranean region and its relationship With Europe - that does not correspond to the simplifications of the media and political speech.
